Waimanalo Bay Beach Park
Picture this: white sands, crystal clear waters and a stunning sheer wood forest. The south side of this bay is THE place for snorkelling and very often you can see Hawaiian green sea turtles (Honu here). The rest of this pretty shoreline offers nice fun waves created by the trade winds, great for bodysurfing or just to play around.
Given that O'ahu is a melting pot of ethnicities, a lot of people do not know that Waimanalo town is a truly Hawaiian town and part of it is "Hawaiian homestead land". Rich in Hawaiian history and heritage of which people are very protective of.
Even though commercial activities are prohibited in this shorelines, we have some GOOD NEWS! You can camp here with a state permit, and that is an experience we 100% recommend, so you can find yourself walking up in this gorgeous bay, with the sound of the Pacific Ocean and the singing birds.
